The Cornerstone to Planet Earth
As I was heading home yesterday, I spotted what looked like a note scrawled next to a street sewer cover. I was walking by pretty quickly, and couldn’t make out anything… so made a note to myself to swing back.
At a glance, I wondered if they were possibly just symbols used by maintenance crews. But it looked like it might actually be a note.

This is what the note looked like, from where I was standing. The light had just changed, so I decided to just snap a few photos… and figured I’d try to read it later.

After arriving at my desk, I zoomed in. Here’s what the note actually said.
I’m not sure what the stuff on the left is. Maybe that last word is “live?”
I vaguely knew what the term “cornerstone” referred to, but ended up looking it up. I like this description:
I like how that sounds. I think that from here on out, every time I walk by that spot… I’m going to think of it as the cornerstone to the Earth. My daily commute just got a little grander.
