Hair, Here

I was taking out the trash over the weekend, and opening up one of our bins… discovered someone had thrown away their hair extensions.

This was a pretty puzzling (and kinda hilarious) discovery. But after the initial surprise of finding this, I began wondering about the moments that led up to the extensions being discarded.

Were they uncomfortable? No longer useful? Did something significant happen, to cause their removal and disposal? What caused someone to decide “I need to get rid of this, right here, right now”?

I was reminded of how the world is full with stories, and how we tend to only get glimpses of them. And, like to day, oftentimes after the fact.
