GlenDronach Tasting for Valentine’s Day

Came downstairs after work to find that Liz had set up an impromptu tasting of some of our various GlenDronach bottles. We had a fairly modest Valentine’s Day dinner planned, so it looks like we got to have dessert first tonight!
L to R, it’s: Cask Strength (Batch 10), Cask Strength (Batch 11), Cask Bottling (2006, cask 5538), Cask Bottling (2008, cask 648).
We had a nice time, sipping and tasting a bit from each bottle. Trying to compare what we noticed, what we liked.
I do have to admit – I had a harder time, possibly due to the nature of these being cask strength. I will say though, that my favorite (and it’s a recent thing) has turned out to be the Cask Strentgh (Batch 10) bottle.
Liz always talks about her sherry bombs, and how certain whiskies just have this certain something. And for me, the Batch 10 really *sings*, and has become a newfound favorite of mine.
We continue to feel very grateful for our time at the Malt Room in Inverness, and often recall how lucky we were to have met Charlotte there. Without her suggestion, we would never have made it a point to stop at the GlenDronach, a distillery that is now very much one of our favorites.
