Newsletter as Memento Mori

This showed up in the mail today. A while back, I think Liz signed me up for the AARP. While I technically qualify for membership (and, apparently, am a member)… I’m not happy about it.

Every communiqué comes off like a miniature memento mori. I’m sure inside each newsletter there are coupons for quilting supplies and early bird specials at local restaurants… but these encounters are more than a bit humbling.

I guess as a reminder, there could be worse things. After all, no bad days.
