Back Issues

Since around January, I’ve had this slight back issue. Hard to describe, but more like the feeling you have with a pinched neck (after sleeping wrong).

It’s difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the discomfort – it feels inside somewhere. Near or around the lower back, glute, and a little into the thigh on my right side.

The problem was mild at first, but never quite recovered (it felt like a pulled muscle that just needed time to heal/loosen up again). And I mostly just dealt with it.

Over the last few weeks, it’s gotten a bit worse. To the point where I started seeing a chiropractor/specialist. I’ve been doing some exercises over the last few weeks, but after those were not yielding the results expected… an MRI was ordered for a clearer look.

Just in time, I guess – because after this weekend, I really did a number on my back. This was work we needed to do, but I don’t think we anticipated how much actual lifting we’d end up doing ourselves.

It’s rough in the mornings, but my understanding is that’s something expected. As I move around, things get marginally better. But after prolonged periods of time sitting, it takes me a while to get up from a chair.

It was like this before the weekend work, but it’s gotten worse since the weekend work. I guess that MRI can’t come fast enough.
