Lower Back MRI

Getting an MRI today, for my lower back. Been a while since I’ve done this, and I’m actually glad the procedure didn’t call for contrast (done through an IV). That notion stressed me out more than the actual MRI itself, to be honest (not a fan of needles and IV).

On arriving, I had a form to fill out with some… interesting questions. Bullets? I guess I should consider myself lucky that I don’t have that as something that’s a serious concern.

I’m not sure what’s more disconcerting to me, looking at this form: the inconsistent spacing or the inconsistent font sizes. If they’re not paying attention to the details here, where else might they be missing things?

Here’s the door that leads to the MRI machine. I didn’t quite register at first, but it’s obvious now looking at the hinges and the handle – this door is serious and seriously heavy.

The MRI machine itself. Surprisingly, I went into this thing feet-first (for some reason I was expecting to go in head-first). Perhaps the direction depends on the area you’re getting scanned.

On leaving, I was provided a copy of my scan via… CD-ROM? Which I guess is… great? I asked for a digital copy, but was told one wasn’t available. I may have to try/ask again, because having this copy just feels… wrong.

Anyone have an old laptop with Windows95 on it I can borrow? And while we’re at it, can I also borrow your 8-track of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours?
