Miscellaneous Tasks
In addition to packing/clearing things, today was all about miscellaneous tasks. On my list: adding insulation in the hallway floor, along with insulating our two closet doors (in the front office).

Opened up the plywood along the second floor hallway. Happy to have found that we put one round of soundproof insulation down. So I just had to add one extra layer.

This devil of a screw. I had trouble moving out the plywood flooring closest to our furnace room. I ended up needing Liz to help me, and we both forced this guy out with a hammer and a lot of elbow grease.
Turns out, there was a screw we couldn’t see that was holding the board in place. Took some effort, but we finally busted it loose.

Main bedroom, freshly skim coated and primed.

Cleaner lines and cleaned up walls.

There are some very interesting and unique corners to this bedroom.
// Edit: One thing not pictured – we needed to take the small closet doors off their hinges, because they would be in the way of the new flooring (see this post for a reference). In doing so, we’d leave some pretty big gaps, with the cold air rushing in from those un-insulated closets.
To fix this, we got two large sheets of Foamular, and cut them to fit inside the closet doors.
It’s not perfect, but better than having nothing to protect things from the outside.
