Scotch Malt Whisky Society, December 2025 Outturn

Ah, the Christmas SMWS outturn. Been a little while since we’ve had one of these events, and there generally ends up being a bit more sharing and festivities with the last event of they ear.

For tonight, six drams as part of the official tasting (with extra drams), post-tasting.

We arrived a bit late, but snagged some comfy seats in the large couch area alongside Lauren and Steve. Grabbed some pizza (lots of pizza at every event), prior to the tasting.

Post event, folks were hanging out by us and chatting. I think that the bottles Lauren and Steve brought to share had a bit of a hand, there.

Of note: Lauren brought not one, but two bottles of Suntory’s Hakushu Peated 18: one was the regular offering and the other was the 100th anniversary edition. He was offering up tastes of both to people, as a way to see if there was a difference between the two.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Steve brought a Glenfarclas 2009 Family Cask.

No wonder we were a popular table.
