Office Door and Window Install, Demo
Lucky news for us – despite the oncoming cold (and a bit of snow on the ground), our window and door guy was willing to stop by to install our upstairs balcony door and windows.
We’ve got a few older (read: super leaky) windows and doors in the upstairs office. We’re replacing some of the windows with newer, recreated versions – as well as a new door to the upper balcony.
Funny thing – if you look at the existing door to the balcony, you’ll see that it actually is this weird, makeshift door that’s actually a window (and not actually a door).

A new window to be installed, alongside a window that we demo-ed/removed. Believe it or not, we decided to remove this window entirely and are planning on boarding and covering it with drywall.
The new window (on the right) is going to replace the one looking out over the balcony.

The balcony door and window, removed. It’s a bit surreal to see this all opened up.

Front door, installed!

Upstairs balcony door and window, installed!

The window on the South side of the office, replaced. For a look at what used to be here, check out this old post.
A while ago, we took out the window and replaced it with a bit of sheet metal (it served as a housing to vent our furnace, before we finalized the furnace room).

Window cleared out, and covered with plywood.

Balcony door, detail.
