Unexpected Hearth
To continue the overall feeling that things are just constantly happening non-stop… Liz recently called the stone company to pick up our hearth work.
Today, as she was out picking up some lunch… she came home to find a few missed calls and a B&B Formica truck waiting on our street. She had gotten a call from the workers, saying our hearth was ready and could they stop by today to install it?

Workers, hard at work installing.

I was sort of running interference, as Liz had two different presentations to give today. I was standing here, waiting for her to “go on” and would signal the workers that they needed to stop.

The hearth stone was just a bit too tall for the space. So to compensate for this, the workers cut into the first layer of plywood (and replaced the 3/4″ plywood with 1/2″ plywood).

Another view of the work area.

Hearth stone, installed.

Now all that’s left – a bit of cleanup.
