Information Booth Construction: Frankfort Fall Festival

Liz and I got a call from her mom on Saturday, asking if we could come down to Frankfort to help paint an “Information Booth” that Bob was building. The booth is slated to be used for the upcoming Frankfort Fall Festival (next weekend).

On arriving, we found the driveway covered with tarps and workhorses. These four pieces were for the legs of the booth.

Nearby, the booth itself… painted and covered up.

Bob, working on what will eventually be the base of the roof.

Getting the roof painted.

The legs, looking a lot better.

The rooftop, flipped over. Technically now, it’s position the right way. This is how it will be sitting, and there will be a roof added (above) this base.

In the garage, Bob showed us the plans he made. Autocad FTW!

Liz and her mom, hanging out in the shade.

The construction of the roof wasn’t at a point where we could help paint, so Liz and I ended up going around front and tackling the front steps.

There are plans to tear out and re-do the steps, but in the meanwhile… we cleaned it off as best we could, and added a fresh coat of paint. This is the before shot.

And afterwards. A short term fix, but a quick fix.

The roof, under construction. Though I didn’t do a ton (I mostly hung out, watched Bob work and drank his beer)… it was neat to watch. I’m looking forward to seeing this guy next weekend, at the festival.

  1. The steps look incredible! You guys are SO amazing! I feel so lazy reading this weekends’ blogs. I won’t even tell you how little we got done this weekend…

  2. Say, that guy, Bob should sell all of those tools, park his car in the garage and drink his beer with you for a change. He doesn’t look like he’s getting any younger. I’ll bet he’s struggling to find time to work on his “money pit” because he’s too involved in community stuff. What a dope! Doesn’t he know life’s too short. He should try to figure out how to get his son-in-laws to do all of that stuff for him and take his rightful place in the shade instead of his daughter!!!Just a thought.Signed,The dope in the picture

  3. That Bob guy sure is handy with his tools, though. Small wonder so many people are after his time.
