Christmas Eve at Katie and Dan’s House

For Christmas Eve, we went over to Katie and Dan’s to open presents – look at all the gifts under that tree!

There was a ton of great food, and I filled myself up to capacity. I was actually upset that I was so full, as that meant I couldn’t go back for more food. Delicious, delicious stuff.

Savannah, opening her gift from Liz (they’re a set of crocheted eggs, complete with little tiny shells). Liz made this gift for Paige for her second birthday, and Savannah seemed to really like them when she saw them.

For closeup pics of the eggs, check out this older entry.

Lots of family, lots of presents. Just a ton of commotion everywhere.

In a classic, American moment… Cameron receives a Wilson football for Christmas.

One of the fun things that happens with Liz’s family is the tendency for folks (the men) to throw wads of wrapping paper at one another, as the gift-giving settles down. Towards the end of the evening, there was a good flurry of paper being flung around, whizzing past everyone’s head. Nearly everyone got hit – Paige, Bob, Grandma.

Cameron used his new sled as a bit of a shield, but that made folks want to try harder to hit him. My favorite moment of the evening was when Cameron walked in to the doorway and shouted “OK THAT’S IT! I SURRENDER!”

At which point, he was greeted with a barrage of paper balls. :)
