Liz Passed Her Exam!
It’s official! Liz got a note from the Director of her program, and passed her big Cumulative Exam! This was the second of two very big tests for her degree, and hearing that she officially passed was a nice marker, and definitely a huge milestone.
Of course, she still has the midterms and finals for her current courses. But the super big exam is officially over.

To celebrate, we headed out to Whistler for drinks. Liz got a Diablo (tequila with ginger beer) and I got the Pinga (Ypioca Cacha?ßa, Plymouth Sloe Gin, Fresh Lime, and Egg White). I had to ask about a ton of the drink ingredients, prior to deciding on the Pinga. The first guy, the Ypioca, is some kind of a rum, but made from sugar cane (as opposed to molasses).
Sadly, I was sorta looking forward to getting their Rosemary Collins again. But it was interesting to see that they constantly keep changing up the drinks menu.

Shot of the bar. We walked in fairly early, circa 7:30 or so. Not a ton of folks inside, and it felt like the place was just picking up steam.
Shortly afterwards, we headed over to Lula’s for a nice dinner. For as busy as we both have been the past few days, it felt nice to just relax a bit… to celebrate and just hang out, without thinking or working on anything.

Justin (May 5, 2009 at 2:39 pm)Um, did you know that Pinga is slang for the, uh, predominant bit of the male genitals? (as well as being a name for a Brazilian drink)
