Vampire Weekend: Step

I am very behind the times, when it comes to new music. I’d heard of Vampire Weekend, but never really played more than a song or two of theirs.

Sometime, last week, I happened across Obvious Bicycle, which then led me to listen more to the album Modern Vampires of the City. I ended up getting kind of hooked on the song Step, and I’m doubly stuck on it now after seeing the video.

I normally hear notes before lyrics, and what really catches my ear is the way the melody hops around so much. But with the video showing the lyrics in sync with the notes moving around, it’s a really great effect.

I’m happy to see that this album came out in 2013, so I’m a little behind the times – but not overly so.

Have I mentioned lately that I never imagined myself someone to use a music subscription service? And that I’ve been using Rdio for a long while now, and totally love it?
