Ps.120:3,4

I was getting money out of an ATM at Millennium Station on my way to work last week, and spotted this scrawled underneath one of the machines. At a glance, I saw “Ps” and assumed it meant “public school” or something like that. As I walked up to the machine, I looked at this a little closer and snapped a photo.

I wasn’t sure what it was. Code? Math as graffiti? It seemed curious.

Fast forward to today: when looking things up via Google, it looks like this might be a reference to a Bible verse. Specifically: Psalms Chapter 120, Verses 3 and 4.

What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

At least, I think the reference is to this Bible verse. Doesn’t quite make a lot of sense to me, but tagging the bottom of an ATM doesn’t make a lot of sense to me either.

Perhaps I’m not interpreting the passage correctly. Or, perhaps, this was the password to get into the ATM itself… and I missed a big opportunity.
