Anderson East: The Devil in Me

Happened across an artist today named Anderson East, and really got hooked on his song The Devil in Me.

There are a few versions of him performing this song as of right now, but none of them are that great (the audio seems to be off/quiet on many of them). There’s a version that’s just him on the guitar, which is pretty decent. But the song really needs that piano (and the female backup singers), in my opinion.

Seems like I have a new song to loop. Finally, I can put away the razor blades and sleeping pills, and move on.

Really digging this one song by East, but honestly… you need to hear the album version. All the “live” versions have this song performed in (I think) the key of D – but the album is a step lower. It also has all the piano and backup singing that really makes the song.

The video is here as a convenience, but if you use any of the main music streaming services you can hear the version I prefer on Spotify or on Rdio.
