Early James: Straightjacket for Two
I happened across a new album from Early James, an artist I hadn’t heard about until now. As I listened to the songs from “Strange Time to Be Alive,” I was really drawn in.
The tracks are somber, dark, slowly inviting. It’s not really my style, but I was really intrigued by what I heard. “Drawn in” is the best description, really.
The song I kept going back to? Straightjacket For Two. Great title. Have a listen:
No space between these sorted sardines
Crammed in a stitched up kangaroo
Let’s buckle down on a wedding gown
A little straightjacket made for two
Made for crooks like me and you

A little straightjacket made for two
Made for crooks like me and you
The whole feel of this album is hard to describe. A get a taste of Lera Lynn; there’s a hint of the Black Keys on a few Quaaludes.
