At the Urgent Care
I got to speak with my chiro/specialist, who got the results from my MRI scan today. I’ve got a few disc bulges, and some areas of herniation.
She gave me a few options, but the long and short of it is that I needed to find some way to reduce the inflammation along my back/spine, before we could resume.
I go a few options, one of which was to go to an Urgent Care to get some steroids (short term, something that would help reduce the inflammation). Another was to go to a pain specialist (longer term, but the goal is again to help reduce inflammation while I resume therapy).
I think she said something like “Your body is on fire, and we need to put that out before we can make you better.”
So Liz took off work early, to go with me to a nearby Urgent Care (where one can walk in, without an appointment). And our goal was to get something for the short term, until we get an official appointment.

In the room, waiting for the doctor… I took out my phone. Liz made this motion.

And… I must have missed that.

While I was (slowly) putting my phone away, I noticed these boxes of Ortho-Glass. I wasn’t sure what it was, and our cell reception was terrible. So I couldn’t look them up online.
I kept staring at things, and wasn’t sure what in the heck they were for. Multiple boxes, different widths.
They were located on top of a cabinet that had labels for things related to splints. But I couldn’t quite grok what these might be (and why they would require some kind of black potato chip sealer thing).
After the doc arrived, we talked about things and she ended up prescribing me some steroids for the inflammation (some kind of pack).
As I got up to leave, I struggled a bit to stand up from the chair. On seeing how much I was struggling, she said that she was going to increase the dosage.
Liz has been saying that I’ve been downplaying the severity of my issues. I guess I looked pretty rough, trying to get up.

For anyone curious, here’s how Orth-Glass works:

I wonder why they don’t want cell phones to be used.
