Winter Commute
There was a good bit of snow coming down, this morning. I guess sleet would be a more accurate description. It was coming down at a decent rate by my house, enough that I had to put up my hood to protect myself.
By the time I got near my Metra stop, the winds decided to join in. And at that point, I had to hold onto my hood, to protect myself.

My work now has a mandatory, hybrid schedule – so I’m making the trek downtown more now, and more often than I’d like.

Waiting for the train, it was definitely cold and slightly uncomfortable. By Chicago standards, this was not anything remarkable. But by my standards, it was annoying.
Expect me to grumble for a while here, about needing to commute in to work. It’s going to take some getting used to. So mix that amount of time with how much I like to grumble.
I think around now, I may need to remind myself that every day is a train ride.

At the Washington/Wabash stop, watching the snow gather. I didn’t realize how close I was to Oasis Cafe.
// Edit: I was sure, absolutely sure, that I had some old blog posts about lunch treks to Oasis Cafe. But I can’t seem to find them! Which is totally weird.
When the weather improves, I may need to pull my coworkers out for lunch. We used to trek out here once upon a time. Hell, we used to trek out all the time for lunch. Might as well take advantage of being downtown, if we all need to be downtown.
Besides, on the walk to lunch… I’m sure we can grumble along the way.
