The Chicago Street Art Show: Friday, May 13th

The Chicago Street Art Show opens this Friday at the Chicago Urban Art Society. Doors open at 6PM, and the event goes until 11PM.

The show itself will feature work from over 30 artists, and span the past 10 years of the Chicago street art scene. There’s also going to be a wall set up, where I presume many of the artists will collaborate.

The opening also serves as a release party for “Chicago Street Art – The Book,” which contains over 100 pages and over 200 images detailing the diverse and dynamic history of more than a decade of street art in Chicago.”

I don’t recognize a ton of names, but I do recognize these guys: The Grocer, Sighn and You Are Beautiful. Check out a shot of the Grocer’s setup, and also this great Cut Grapefruit Tee (which will be available for sale at the event).

I think a few of us will be heading down after work on Friday, and holing up a bit at Skylark. Should be a fun evening!
