Prepping the Ceiling for Drywall

Last night, Bob came over around the time that I got home from work. The two of us then brought up some plywood from the basement, and got some pieces set to fill in the gap that we cut out of the bedroom ceiling.

Exciting news: we finally got to use the drywall lift for the first time! It was for plywood, but that’s a technicality.

Two pieces of plywood gave us the thickness we needed to (mostly) match up with the existing ceiling drywall.

We ended up moving the washers slightly, so my earlier errors weren’t so bad after all.

We ended up working pretty late, stopping for dinner around 8:30 and picking up again afterwards. I don’t think Bob left our place until 10:30 or so.

A few more gaps to fill, here and in two more spots. But once those are in place, we’re ready to put up the ceiling. Very exciting stuff.
