After the Pour

Realized it’s been a few days, and I never got around to sharing what the back porch pour looked like… after all the work was said and done. It’s been such a non-stop blur these last two weeks, it’s been hard to keep up.

We still need to install a drain cover, and currently just have a hole at the top of our french well. Liz mentioned that earlier today, there’s a small nest of young birds above our back porch… and a small bird fell down here.

It’s that time of year where fledglings are trying to take flight, and trying to leave the nest. It’s difficult enough for them, and we didn’t want to add another danger with them falling into our drain… so we covered it for the time being.

Bob was here today, and brought the stairs back down. And more than that, he fixed them against the supporting wall… and added an extra brace, to boot. Should give us a bit more sturdiness, before we actually put in the for real wall(s) down here.
