Double Miss

Liz and I were out today, with the intention of getting our Flu and Covid shots. Well, I was the one who was thinking I’d get both at once… but Liz convinced me that probably wasn’t the best idea.

Given how often our local Walgreen’s has messed up our medication/orders, there’s no way I’m willing to let anyone there inject me with anything. I don’t care how routine it is – for how often I’ve seen them mishandle prescription orders, there’s no way I’m letting anyone near me with a needle.

In the past, we’ve gone to a Northwestern Immediate Care location, which tends to allow walk-ins for these types of shots.

On arriving today, we learned that the location we went to didn’t have any Covid shots, and that we needed to go to a different location. Well, we figured, might as well try to go our Flu shots then.

Swing and a miss, as we were here on a Sunday and they only do Flu shots from Tuesday through Saturday. On explaining that this scheduled helped reduce waste, it made more sense to us. But was no less frustrating, hearing it on a Sunday afternoon.

We still ended up running some errands, so the day wasn’t a total waste. But we definitely missed out on everything we intended to do.
