Office Floor and Drywall, Custom Cuts
A big day in the office, with us getting more drywall up and some plywood down on the floor.

It’s hard to see, but we struggled with the board on the left. The backerboard at the bottom wasn’t quite level, and we had a hard time figuring out how to compensate the drywall. Our custom cut didn’t quite work out, so we cut our losses… and got the piece level at least (note the odd shape at the bottom, near the outlet).

With that other piece installed, we tried to shake off the ugliness of it. And Liz focused on yet another custom cut, to go near the top.

We’ve gotten through a lot of the big drywall pieces that have been sitting in the office… which allowed us access to more of the floor. And to get some plywood down.

Drywall up, and some of the last, large pieces relocated temporarily.

Some new plywood boards down on the floor. Slowly but surely, we’re getting an actual floor in here.

We worked a long while, and at the end of the day… I ended up moving the goalpost a bit. Near dusk, I wanted to get our Christmas tree out of the house (and dropped off at Jackson Park, nearby).
I was in a rush, and left a horrible mess – a trail of debris all through the house, down the front steps, and all inside our car. But I at least got the thing out.
Note to self: don’t wait so long, next year. I know you love the lights, but if you wait until the tree is crispy… you’re going to force your wife to clean up an incredible mess.
