Taking the Bunnies for a Drive
Tonight, we decided to try something from the playbook that’s a little more… forced. The idea is to introduce a shared, stressful situation so that the bunnies would go through the experience together (and ideally, forget about any tension or animosity between them, in the interim).
We did something like this a long time ago, with Baxter and Quincy. And our hope tonight is that Hugo and Cloudy would get a little closer together, having gone through something stressful together.

Surprisingly, they got into the carrier easily enough. And there was no fighting or problems with them in such close proximity.
I was driving us around, while Liz was in the back with the carrier. And the whole time the bunnies were just fine. While Hugo looked to be a bit stressed, Cloudy seemed completely unfazed.
On returning home, Liz sat with them both again for a few hours. And I’m sad to report that the bonding session after the car didn’t go all that well.
Cloudy was aggressive again, and biting a lot. So despite this shared, stressful experience in the car and carrier together… it didn’t seem to change all that much.
We’re not done yet, but this bonding has proving quite challenging. I think it has, so far, been the most difficult bonding attempt we’ve had so far. The car ride was a kind of last resort move, but we’re not throwing in the towel just yet.
They can be close to one another, without fighting and aggression. So that’s a good sign. For us to find some way to keep that up outside of a car/carrier… that’s going to be the next trick.
