Paige’s Graduation Celebration, Day 1: Travel Day, Dinner at Three Blind Mice
Liz and I waited a bit too long, to do our travel planning. Suffice it to say: mistakes were made.
Our original plan was frugal: to save money, I found a one-way flight for $90 from Chicago to Atlanta for Liz, and I’d drive down the following day.
Turns out, I booked the wrong day (a week later than the event). And so we scrambled, and ended up taking separate flights a day apart. We were originally thinking we’d need to find a hotel, but were able to stay at Tricia’s house – so that helped immensely.
On arriving at Hartsfield-Jackson, I found my way down to the tram that takes people to/from the terminals to the baggage claim and ground transportation area.
For some reason, I decided I wanted to walk. In my head, I figured It can’t be that far… but boy, was it a walk. But I thoroughly enjoyed what happened, along the way.

The pathway to/from the terminals wasn’t just cold concrete. The path took me through a tremendous amount of artwork.

In many ways, I felt like I was walking through a museum.

I passed a section full with sculptures. And numerous sections that showcased really great photography, along with historical exhibits. Despite it being quite a long walk, I highly encourage you to travel on foot at ATL – it’s really quite a sight to behold.

Unfortunately, my travel times were right when Paige was going through her graduation ceremony. But I’m lucky to have some photos that were shared with me of the event. L to R it’s Darryl, Paige, and Tricia.

Liz and Paige.

Fast forward a bit to the post-event, celebratory dinner at Three Blind Mice.

Back at the house, with Liz, Kirt, and Tricia.

As per usual, some kind of shenanigans in the kitchen. Whatever is happening, Audrey approves.
