Jahnu’s Graduation Celebration, Day 1: Picking Up Tables, Costco Run, a New TV, and Party Prep Work
I took the day off work today to just hang out in Indy, and to help with any party prep before the big event (tomorrow). After a lazy morning, Stacey and I headed out to pick up some tables from her workplace.
Interesting tidbit: she currently works in a building next to North Central, where we both went to high school (and where Jahnu and Jasmine also went to high school).

I got to peek in at her office, as she was locating the tables. Everywhere I go, there’s no avoiding bunny rabbits.

A brief view of Stacey’s office (that’s her desk there, on the left).
After some phone calls and walking around, we found ourselves at a nearby warehouse and got 5 tables loaded onto a cart and got to walk it (slowly, gradually) back to the car. It’s a weird thing, but being off work and doing this? It felt like an adventure to me.

Back home, with a cutout of the graduate.

And, of course, Jasmine was close by.

While we were picking up around the house, the big star of the show arrived: Dippin’ Dots!

At Costco, our goal was to get some snacks and supplies… but ended up with this: a cart with a new TV, along with some chocolate and Reese’s covered animal crackers.
To our credit, we spent some time at the house researching TVs via Consumer Reports and Wirecutter, before arriving.

It was a little touch and go, but we got the thing in my car! It had just started to rain when we got here, and I honestly gave us a 50/50 chance of it fitting or us needing to run back to the entrance.

Back home, Jasmine takes over the IT/Tech job and starts to set up the new TV.

A brief portrait of Kaya, who is the human canine equivalent of a Muppet. Look at that furry face!

Further on in the evening, more home repairs were underway.

As I was picking up around the house, I saw this songbook for Bon Jovi’s album New Jersey.
I’m not sure why it’s at the house, and how it came to be here. It certainly, most definitely was not because I bought this with my own money as a teenager. Definitely not.

A few photos of Jahnu, over the years.

Late at night, Kaya calling it quits.
