Back Office: Insulation

I realize I’ve been remiss with the updates, regarding this room of our house. I’ve been referring to it as our “back office,” because this is where I had my home office for long, long while.

But I’ve since moved out. And we had some work done back here, recently. Namely: we pulled up the flooring and put fresh plywood down. And we’ve also had the North wall headered, and opened up. And we also had a new wall put up in the middle of the room.

We’re basically converting this room by cutting it in half. The new wall marks a separation between where our walk-in closet will be, and where the bathroom will be (we’re making it a bit larger).

The bathroom is a whole other project in and of itself. So for now, we’re focusing on getting the closet side of things finished up. And that means drywall. But before that: electrical. But before that: insulation.

Which brings us to the work I was doing today.

A bit hard to see, but this is look through the new wall, onto the newly headered wall along the North side of the house. That extra space is going to end up being too low to walk into… but we’re going to make some deep drawers/storage for that spot.

Making a bit of a mess.

Looking into the corner. Can you tell I started to run out of insulation?

A slightly better view of the opened up area. We had some extra batts of insulation around, but I was loathe to open up a new one because I was so close to being done. So it’s a bit of a mish-mash, here at the end.

Also, I was working for a good while, and just got tired. And done.

Exciting to see this back area cleaned up some. We’ve got more work to do to figure out lighting and electrical, but we should be close to having this be an actual room as well.
