Scotland, Day 1: Driving to Glasgow, Suite Upgrade at Native, Dinner at Margo

On arriving at Glasgow, this was our car rental (a Mokka SUV). We ran into a bit of an issue, due to our insurance coverage not matching the size of the car we had rented (the automated insurance service is a separate company from the actual car rental, so this kind of discrepancy tends to happen).
After a bit of wrangling, our rental person was able to give us a comparable sized car matching what we had on order. This time around, we wanted slightly more room for luggage.

Sitting in the parking lot, getting my nerve together to drive our way to Glasgow. Keep in mind I’m a bit jet lagged, and trying to remind myself that I need to stay on the Left Left Left Left.

Our hotel this time around was in downtown Glasgow, at Native. I dropped off Liz and our luggage, and left her to check in while I parked the car in a nearby garage.
On arriving, I learned that we had been upgraded – and were now in one of the suites on the top floor.

Bathroom view.

Dining room.

Adjacent kitchen area, which was snug but had tons of amenities.

I found Liz outside, on the balcony – which circled all around our room (we were on a top floor, in the corner).

A view of downtown Glasgow.

Another view, taking in all the chimneys.

Liz, looking out on the balcony.

Another view from the balcony.

Liz, relaxing with a coffee, looking out over the city.

Fast forward a few hours. After unpacking, we walked over to Margo for dinner.

My lovely dinner date, sipping on a cocktail.

A view of the upstairs area, from our table.

Early plates.

Not recalling what this was, beyond the fact that it was delicious.

A lot of plates coming, fast and furious.

Dessert.
Worth noting: the folks that run Margo also run Ox and Finch (a restaurant we meant to try, on our first visit back in 2021). Despite not being locals, I liked that it felt like we were keeping up with the food scene, albeit somewhat delayed.
