Scotland, Day 4: Breakfast at Moss, the Meeting of Three Waters, the Wee Midgie Honesty Box, Home and Hot Tub

We found a local spot near our place called Moss.

While we arrived early, the place really filled up. Lots of locals.

Back around Glencoe Valley, we were exploring a few different spots. Liz had a place in mind, and was trying to track it down.

We eventually found it: the Meeting of Three Waters. There wasn’t a ton of easy parking, but we found some spots, hopped a small fence, and hiked our way up to several small pools/rivers.

There were a good number of other people also exploring the area. But most folks stuck near the pools closest to the highway. The more we ventured up, the more we were on our own.

Of note: as I was walking around, I had this colossal misstep where I slid on some mud, and fell flat on my butt. Liz saw it from a distance. And she also saw that several other tourists saw the same thing (they were gesturing to one another, using their arms to indicate just how badly I ate it).

Thankfully, no video of this moment exists.

As I was standing here, I noticed the rate at which the clouds were moving, above. And I watched their shadows slowly stretch across the valley. I started recording, and am happy to have documented an incredibly peaceful moment I was lucky enough to commit to film.

Fast forward a bit. We drove over to a “surprise” location that Liz had: a visit to the Wee Midgie Honesty Box.

While we were here, there were several other travelers who stopped by (one hiker, one Asian couple). A very popular spot!

This was in the middle of a rather small, quiet little neighborhood. But I love that Liz found it on the Internet, and we were able to trek here to buy a few things from their store.

Most of our trip involved being out and about. But we had this cottage that came with a hot tub. It felt wrong to not make some kind of an attempt to use the thing.

Despite the weather and strong winds, we got a bit of time in the hot tub after arriving home. It was relaxing after our excursions, and served almost as a warm-up for us settling in on the couch later in the evening.
