Hallelujah: Norwegian Variation

I came across this great MetaFilter post about a recent cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” It’s done by four Norwegians (I think): Kurt Nilsen, Espen Lind, Askil Holm and Alejandro Fuentes.

Their voices are amazing, and some really great moments (I like Fuentes’ voice a great deal, and Nilsen’s crescendo when he kicks it up gives me the shivers).

I don’t normally post copies of stuff like this to my site, but I futzed around with trying to rip the video – just so I could post it myself. I like this stuff so much, I want to make sure a copy will be around, at a future time. Usually, I’ll just link to stuff – but in some rare cases, I host the files myself.

This rip took a lot of mucking around. I had to pull the video out of Windows media format, and then pulled the audio separately – and then tried to paste them back together, all synched up. I hope I did a close enough job; and I hope that all this mucking around gives you a sense of how much I like this cover (and this song, in general).
