Five Things You May or May Not Know About Me
Running a bit short on time this AM for the blog stuff. But rather than post up nothing, I figured a quickie post instead.
Below are five things that you may or may not know about me:
- I have a Master’s degree in Creative Writing, with a focus on Poetry.
- On my right hand, my love line and life line are merged into one humongo line that runs the width of my palm
- I played violin in high school, and performed with my HS orchestra at Carnegie Hall
- I have perfect pitch.
- I’ve been in two commercials in my lifetime: one that was in incredibly poor taste entitled “The Stir Fry Experts”… the other for a toy called “Linkits”.
I’m extending an invite for you to share your list: feel free to post five things that others may not know about you. I’ll be in and out of meetings all day today, but I’ll try to check back in and approve any replies that come through.

avoision (January 28, 2009 at 1:21 pm)1. i’m ambidextrous – i throw lefty, bowl lefty, write righty, kick lefty. i used to have a longer list of what i do righty/lefty but am totally blanking on it. mouse righty?2. i’m a techno dj, but i focus primarily on really chill stuff (cf. basic channel, deepchord, classic detroit). all vinyl.3. i double majored in pure math and applied math and minored in english lit. true to textbook undergrad form, i now use none of that – other than using big fancy words – in my actual work. in grad i majored in human-computer interaction, and i do use that in my actual work. i have since begun to self-identify as an interface designer.4. i have used the same keyboard brand/model since i was 17. i have used the same kind of pen since i was 14. i have used the same kind of notebook since i was 20. i have owned the exact same water bottle since i was 18. i have owned the same kind of film camera since i was 13. i don’t change my tools often.5. i refuse to change my phone number to a 773 area code because, as it stands, my current number (951.4121) spells out an arrow on the phone keypad, and i think that’s neat.i cannot believe i didn’t have to plead the fifth on any of these.

I sang opera at Carnegie Hall with my mom (her third) and Renee Fleming (count unknown ;) – but I’m terrified of singing in front of other people.4. I am the only light hair and/or light eyes person in my family.5. I’m actually really happy most of the time and sometimes makeup and hum myself little songs – I even wake up happy!
