Headbanger

Over the weekend, Bob and I opened up a part of the basement walls to take a look at the studs there. We’re planning on putting in an injector pump behind this large waste pipe. And if all goes well… we might even end up routing the waste pipe so that it’s not smack dab in the middle of the walkway here.

There’s a smallish bathroom directly above, but the space between the pipe and the far right wall is where the original entrance to the kitchen used to be. With that entrance walled up and no longer in use, having this pipe situated here makes less sense.

With the work we’ve been doing in this area, I’ve been ducking in and around the pipe a great deal. But the kicker is that the arm that extends to the right is just at my forehead level. I’ve walked around thinking I’ve cleared the thing, only to conk my head a few times. Over the course of two days, I’ve done it three or four times.

It’s like a 3 Stooges .gif, endlessly looping.

It’ll be nice to move this guy, once and for all. If for nothing else than to save me some serious headaches in the future.
