Last night, Liz mentioned to me that it was going to be cold this morning. And that there might be a chance of snow. And that I would want to wear my winter jacket.
This past week, I’ve been in denial. Because if I don’t put on my winter jacket, and instead layer up with a hoodie and a thinner jacket… I can somehow delay the coming of the cold.
This morning, as I walked out the door… I was glad to have my winter jacket on. Because I wasn’t prepared for what I saw.
Not only was there snow on the car, but there was a sea of leaves all around the house.
The sidewalk was covered! Whatever brought the snow down, also brought all the remaining leaves down as well.
One of my favorite images from this morning.
The snow that was falling wasn’t quite hail, but ticked on the roof and windshield of the car. So I knew each bit carried a bit of weight.
As I pulled out in my car, I looked up to see a constant rain of leaves. The snow ended up triggering a cascade of leaves from the trees. It was quite mesmerizing, and there was a part of me that wanted to just pull over and wait. And watch, as everything high above fell down to earth.
