Daisy Goes on Some Speed Dates, Red Door Animal Shelter: Part Two

We’re back again today, to do another round of speed dates with Daisy and some potential companions. Things went really well last time, with both Mr. Bubbles and Kip… so we decided to have another session.

A note: Daisy has been a little reserved, since we were last here. It’s odd, as her behavior had a significant change since the first speed dating session.

While she’s normally out and about in her area, she’s taken to hiding out in her cardboard box. She hasn’t really ventured out much, and it’s been a slight concern to us.

Today, while Liz was downstairs meeting one on one with Mr. Bubbles and Kip… Daisy got pretty relaxed. I was surprised to see her stretched out on her side like this, even before any other bunnies showed up.

Mr. Bubbles and Daisy.

Some good interactions today, though Mr. Bubbles got a little overly animated/excited. There was some grooming which, again, was a very positive sign.

Daisy and Kip. While he was previously reserved, Kip had a bit more energy today… and was also very eager/energetic.

A nice sign: both Kip and Daisy were comfortable just hanging out.

I do have to say: I think Kip flopped over on his side something like 4-5 times, during his speed date. I’ve never seen a bunny flop over so much, in such a short time.

This isn’t someone that we met with, but I found a soft spot for this little guy: Dig Dug. It’s hard to tell from this photo, but he’s got the most intense lamb chop sideburn action going on. It’s that fact, coupled with his incredibly small body, that just makes him absolutely adorable.

To me: Dig Dug is a Victorian era grandfather. Who got hit with a shrinking ray, and also got taken back in time to his 5 year old body. But he retained all his facial hair. This is all I could think of, every time I looked at him.

The only thing this guy is missing is a tiny, checkered vest. And maybe a monocle.
