Christmas in Indy, Day 2: Morning Run, Carmel Christkindlmarkt, Binging Ted Lasso

Despite it being a vacation, Liz and I opted to go on a run. It’s been a while since I’ve hit the pavement, but Liz is still in prime form (after her recent marathon).
We did a few laps around the neighborhood, which was a bit rough given the cold. First mile was the worst, and was quite the struggle. But the second mile got marginally better.
Back home, Kaya helped us with our post-run stretching.

My mom and dad met up with us at my sister’s house, and we all trekked over to nearby Carmel for the Carmel Christkindlmarkt.

It was cold out, but we all braved the temps to seek out mulled wine and raclettes.

A decent crowd, despite the cold day. We debated coming here at night, to experience the lights… but figured the crowds would be worse. So we opted for a daytime visit (misanthropes that we are).

A lovely arch, in the middle of the market.

Lots and lots of shops/vendors to explore.

So much chocolates available. On seeing this, I was reminded very much of the many amazing chocolate shops found in Bruges.

Can’t recall exactly what this was, but my guess: mulled wine.

Long lines, but worth it for a bit of spiralkartoffeln.

As much as I tried to resist, I broke down and got a brat.

The line for raclettes was absolutely insane.

The market had its own ice rink, which made for lovely people watching.

Back home, after the market. Everyone slowly thawed out, and slowly got relaxed.
Side note #1: Props to my dad, who was asleep but still maintained full ownership of the TV remote.
Side note #2: I learned from the best.
// Edit: I forgot! I think we played several rounds of Monikers tonight as well. No photos, alas – but the game went over well. Lots of shouting and laughing. Stacey liked it so much, she ended up ordering her own copy of the game.

At night, we ended up watching Ted Lasso – a show that Liz and I had heard a lot about, but never watched.
We absolutely fell in love with this show. Binged several episodes, and had a hard time calling it a night because we wanted to keep watching. So. Good.
