New Fence Install, Day 11: (Almost) Closing the Gap
I was pretty tired today after work. But I saw that it’s going to get really super hot, mid-week. So if I wanted to work outside, tonight was a good night. So I, very slowly, suited up and made my way to the backyard.

I wasn’t out for a long time, but made decent progress. Almost finished with this second layer of pickets.

On the neighbor’s side of things, I was putting up a 1×6 to cover up the metal posts when I noticed this small nail sticking through. Guess I missed the mark a bit on that one. Whoops!

We still have pickets to put up alongside our deck. But that requires us to paint the pickets first (and we’re considering affixing them from the neighbor’s side).
To that end we’re keeping this small spot open, so that we can go back and forth. I know it must be frustrating for our neighbors (who have a dog, and want to let him run free in the yard). But since we’re our own contractors, you know that the hired help is just really slow about progress.
Getting there though. Once we have the pickets prepped, I think we can close this all off on a Saturday.
