Hazel and the Hut

Most nights, when we open the pens up for Hugo and Hazel to roam… Hazel makes a beeline for the Bunny Hut. And while she tends to just hunker down in there, she has this very odd habit of just grooming the crap out of things.

This is a recent thing, and has seemed to keep pace with her neurological condition. She grooms her Hop ‘n Flop a lot as well. We’re not quite sure what this means, if it’s a comforting technique or what. We just know that she’s started to do it more and more, as her illness has progressed.

Originally, we just thought she had a lot of love to give. And she still may, honestly. But a lot of her recent behavior seems a bit off. And of note, she’s still particular.

Hazel is no Cloudy (famous for her Hot Licks), as the moment you get your hand close… she backs away. So Hazel is really intent on grooming other things, just not you.

Either way, it’s incredibly cute.
