Rest Day in Chicago

After more than two weeks away, traveling around Scotland… we’re finally back home. It’s been an incredible time, so many adventures and experiences. And we’re glad and relieved and thankful to be back home, after all this time.

We both made sure to schedule an extra vacation day for recuperation. So we’re back, but taking the day to re-adjust to life back in the states.

Despite (or perhaps thanks to) our jet lag, we were able to be up early enough to catch breakfast at Roux.

We were early enough to beat the crowds. See the gentleman stretching on the far right of this photo? He may look like he’s relaxing, but he’s actually a Med Student at the nearby University of Chicago. I know this because while we were eating, I watched him studying various diagrams of the human heart on his laptop.

While other people are working, Liz and I had a very relaxing day off. Watching this guy study for school made me tired, and I’m pretty sure I was taking a nap soon after we got home.
