Cameron apparently had a YOLO moment, and ordered what I think was the Paper Sada Dosa. And he got through over 50% of the thing on his own!

DC Vacation, Day 5: Lazy Cafe Time, Walking around Theodore Roosevelt Island, Dinner at Martin’s Tavern
Later in the afternoon, we met up with Lisa and Wyatt at Theodore Roosevelt Island. We were on the search for something a bit off to beaten path, and decided to do a bit of exploring.
Drinks at Lower Broadway
On Saturday, Liz and I ventured out to meet up with Jake and Anais for some drinks. The spot we were to meet was a kind of weird one – the directions we had were vague, and had a series of steps, as opposed to an actual address.
Dinner in Wilmette
On Saturday, Liz and I went out to Wilmette to see with Lisa and James (and Cameron), who were back visiting. We also met up with Alexandra and hung out at Lisa’s parents’ house for a bit, catching up.
Lake Geneva, Day 2
For much of the weekend, Jake would throw sticks into the water for Tus to fetch. At first, she was hesitant to get in the water… but once she realized it was ok (after Jake tossed her in), she started diving in on her own. According to Jake, this was the first time she had ever jumped into a lake totally on her own – you could tell he was really proud of Tus.
Lake Geneva, Day 1
Lisa and James are back in Chicago for a few days, and originally Jake, Liz and I were going to go out for a weekend of camping. Given the heat and the storms predicted, we ended up heading to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where we were able to stay at the lakehouse that belongs to Jake’s dad.
