This video has Hart and Segerman performing all the parts of a round, but presenting it in a single, continuous video that you can observe. Not only that, but multiple versions of each person exist (and interact with objects like sheet music and a hammer).

Not really sure what to make of this. Part of me thinks that if it’s writing in a public area, it’s vandalism. And another part of me wonders if this is just someone trying to be helpful, a bit like jotting down the quadratic equation, just in case someone might need some reminding in the future.

Every year, there seems to be one new video that ends up catching the public’s attention and defining “Pi Day.” This time around, my vote goes to YouTube user Numberphile, who’s created a fun video where he attempts to measure out pi using actual pies. Many of us probably thought about doing this, but he actually went out and did it. And probably got really full as a result:

Happy Pi Day everybody! March 14th (or 3/14) is officially here, and I’m always amazed to see a large influx of new visitors whenever the day rolls around. I suspect a lot of folks are here to view my pi10k flash experiment, where you can convert the first 10,000 digits of pi into a musical sequence. If you haven’t tried…

Artist and Maker Reuben Margolin has an uncanny ability to create sculptures that capture the feel of natural movements. Looking at his work, it’s hard not to be mesmerized both by the water-like motion of his pieces… but also by the incredibly complex mechanical components that make the motion possible. It’s fascinating to get a tour of his workshop, and…

Normally on Pi Day (3/14), I tend to get a fair amount of traffic to this site. A link to an old Flash project of mine gets passed around, and lots of folks tend to come by for a visit. About 8 years ago, I made a Flash experiment called pi10k, where people can assign musical notes to specific numbers……
