Chicago Fire Department, Engine Company 60
Did a recovery run today, after work. Found it difficult to stop and unplug from all the various tasks and things for my job. But pulled myself away and set out to do a relaxed 5K, to get some movement going… and to get a little distance under my feet.
On my way home, my run ended near our location fire station (Chicago Fire Department, Engine Company 60).
The bay doors happened to be open, and there was a nice bit of symmetry from where I had stopped. So I snapped a quick photo.
In addition to getting more exercise, running has gotten me more familiar with my neighborhood, more familiar with streets I seldom traverse. And has made me pay more attention to things I might not notice.
