On rounding the corner of the building, I spotted several rocks perched atop thin stalks. From a distance, they looked like a field of flowers… but I didn’t realize they were rocks until I got much closer.
Based on a sign nearby, I found out that it’s an outdoor installation called Cosmic Debris. Created by Sarah Belknap and Joseph Belknap, there’s also an indoor scultpure/photo component that opens up tomorrow (Saturday, May 5th at 3:30 PM).

Walking home from work, I spotted a pair of lonely shoes in the tunnel near the Jackson Blue/Red stop. It seemed such an unusual spot to encounter such a thing – and I immediately began to wonder whether they were intentionally thrown away, or somehow forgotten.

As I was waiting, I glanced over a few times… trying not to stare, trying to to be rude. But my curiosity got the better of me. A few times, the guy caught my eye and seemed to smile. The way he was sitting was pretty unusual – out in the open, with no table in front of him. He looked almost regal, as though he were holding court in the coffee shop. Killing time, as it were, until his subjects arrived to pay their respects.

After reading things over, it dawned on me what I was looking at. This wasn’t some mere list of instructions or rules…

Well, I’ve only go half the story for you on this. I was walking to the Jackson Blue Line stop, on my way home… and I spotted this guy near the middle of the platform.
Not only was he holding up a cardboard sign, he also had messages printed out on both his jacket and his backpack. On the back of his jacket, I believe the text was: “Jesus says I have the keys of death.” I don’t remember what his backpack said.

I can’t help but imagine that someone hit a certain frustration point, and decided to just up and trash the stroller right there and then. There was no folding up, no trying to fit it inside…

Finding this here, I imagined a guy who sat for a while, got pretty amped up, and then ran off to go attend to some important task or errand. I started laughing to myself, imagining a guy running full steam…

Spotted this on my way home last night, and it made me laugh. The sign seems at odds with the faucet, jammed into the side of the fire hydrant. One half of the thing was encouraging you to drink, the other half warning you against it. Now that I see an actual sign warning against…

Spotted this on the way home, near the Logan Blue Line stop. As I was looking up, I noticed clouds occupying only half the sky. One side had them, the other side was absolutely clear – as blank as a piece of paper. This photo doesn’t really do the moment much justice, but it felt…

On boarding the Blue Line on my way home, I found an open seat in the front of the car (the kind that’s isolated from the rest of the seats). I sat down quickly, and started playing some games on my iPhone. After a few stops, I rested my left arm on the ledge by…
