Spring is Here (Almost)

Today, on arriving home after work, Liz was delighted to see a few bits of green – poking through the ground. Our yard has been buried under snow lately, but with the warmer days… it seems like we’ve got some plants waking up.

A closeup of one of the little greenies.

Liz checked with her mom, who suggested we not clear the front yard just yet. And to leave all the leaves and debris as covering, until the end of April.
There’s still the possibility of cold days ahead, and the dead foliage on top will provide some shelter/protection. So even though our impulse is to clean and clear, we’re leaving it be for now.
Still, it’s nice to see the yard again after being buried for so long. And if you think this is something, make sure to check out the before/after photos, from the work Liz and Julie did with the day lillies.
Can’t wait to see what the yard will look like, once the days start to stay warm!
