Christmas Trees and Beers

We’re a bit late in our Christmas tree shopping, but headed out today… trying to find spots that still had them for sale. At City Escape, we found a lot of trees… but they were way too expensive.

Liz did happen to find a pair of rabbit statues though.

Seriously contemplating the price tag.

While calling around to find other places that sold Christmas trees, we honed in on a lot that was set up just outside District Brew Yards.

Turns out, they weren’t affiliated with the brewery… and had just set up shop in their parking lot.

After finding and getting our tree (I was able to talk the guy down $20), we got it affixed to our car. And then decided to go in for a beer.

Interior. We were new to the setup, and learned that this was a serverless setup – and everything was entirely self-serve.

Several different breweries to choose from, at several different spots in the space.

Everyone gets a card on entering, and you’re charged by the ounce. You can try as little as you like, from as many different taps as you like. And when you’re done, you just drop the card off on your way out. You eventually get charged for whatever you poured for yourself.

There were several games available to play. But I was delighted to see a Crokinole board in the corner. We immediately set up shop here, and and I tried a round (with our round).

Back home, with the tree in tow. We felt it move several times on our drive back, so I ended up going quite slowly, and taking more of a local route back.

All safe and sound though. A fun errand day, all in all.
