With our overnight stay, Stacey and I crashed for most of the day. I was out for a good while (sleeping until 2:30PM or so), though I don’t think Stacey slept all that much – catching a few catnaps during the day.

Overnight

On arriving in the afternoon, we checked in with everyone in grandma’s room – and decided we would return in the evening, and stay with her through the night. Since my dad and Aunt Vicky had already been spending a great deal of time with her, Stacey and I felt we could give them a chance to rest – and stay the night.

Suddenly, Suzuki

I found it kind of nice to remember some of these older tunes, but she clearly didn’t have the same reaction. The interesting thing with the Suzuki Method is that it really emphasizes memorization – so much so that even now, many decades later, I still can remember most of these songs. Even though I may not have actually touched a violin in years.

Happy 105th Birthday, Grandma Phoebe

Another milestone, for my Grandma Phoebe – as family and friends gathered to celebrate her 105th birthday. Lots of dim sum, birthday cake, balloons, photos, and no small amount of face swapping on our mobile phones. A fun day catching up with cousins and nieces and nephews from all over (and technically all over the world).
