Looking Back on Some Favorite Posts
For folks who are visiting my site this week and aren’t regular visitors… I thought I’d provide a few links to some older posts you might find fun/interesting. If you’d like, I invite you to subscribe to the RSS feed. I’m hoping I can convince you there’s something here with returning for.
So a few favorites:
My wife Liz is awesome. For my birthday last year, she snuck in to my office and filled it with a ton of balloons. And on the end of each ballon, there was a birthday card from a friend or family member. Best Gift EVER.
The Postcard Machine was a booth at the 2007 Renegade Craft Fair. You’d put a dollar in the slot, and the… machine (possibly from the future) would spit you out a postcard, based on your preferences.
This was by far my favorite memory of the fair. It was so much fun watching people walk by, and then break out into smiles when the machine started “talking” to them directly.
Many years ago, Starbucks held a promotion outside of the Merchandise Mart, where we were working in 2005. They trucked in a ton of ice and made a faux snow area at the start of November. Folks came by, posed with the snowman they had built, and this went on for most of the morning.
By mid-afternoon, Starbucks had left the site and had apparently packed up all their stuff. The snow was still on the ground, as was the snowman.
My friend Chris decided to tackle it, and we got it on film.
We have a lot of bets in the office related to food. Here, my friend Anthony acepted the Vending Machine Challenge, wherein the bet is whether you can eat one of every item in the office vending machine during a normal work day.
Earlier this year, in April, someone else who had found out about the challenge via my blog tried it themselves.
Each year in Frankfort, IL, at the conclusion of the Frankfort Fall Festival, an enormous waterballoon fight takes place between the North and South sides of Nebraska Street.
Though I didn’t get to attend last year, I have lots of photos and videos from 2006, 2007 and 2008
I attended a great show at Intuit that featured PostSecret and Found Magazine. I got lots of fun (and moving) video from the event.
Perhaps the first big food dare we had at the office, my friend Ben accepted the Eat Six Roast Beef Sandwiches in One Hour challenge. I caught a little time-lapse of the whole event.
Hope that helped you to while away a little time. And by all means, please feel free to explore around these parts. I’ve got several areas that you might like: Photos, Desktop Wallpaper, Flash Experiments, a Guide to Making a Pecha Kucha presentation and a list of my Ten Best Days for each year (2002 – 2009).

It’s hilarious watching Justin try to soar in the air like a dolphin to catch things in his mouth.
